[05/24/2016] – Bike Lane Stripping Request – Jon Cunningham:

(excerpt from e-mail, City of El Paso)

The City of El Paso is currently developing a bike plan which will provide guidance to the placement of bicycle facilities throughout the city, and address education, enforcement and encouragement. The draft bicycle network currently designates a bike lane on John Cunningham from Chuck Heinrich Park the El Paso Electric right-of-way east of Martin Luther King. Please see the screen shot below.

We are currently working with ALTA Planning and the community to develop this plan and anticipate adoption in Summer 2016.  Additionally, John Cunningham is scheduled for resurfacing from Martin Luther King to its terminus in FY 2017 through the adopted Capital Improvement Plan. The resurfacing will include new roadway striping. Streets and Maintenance Department will coordinate with our Department to ensure safe and high-quality bicycle facilities are implemented during the resurfacing project.

From the Drug Enforcement Agency Headquarter, Miami, FL:
It is with heartfelt sympathy to inform you that Miami Field Division Intelligence Group Supervisor Joel A. Bay passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 30, 2014 with family by his side.  There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1100 at All Saints Catholic Church, 10900 W. Condolences may be sent to Mrs. Carla Bay and family at 10505 NW 5th Ct., Plantation, FL 33324.

Joel Bay was president of the North Hills Neighborhood Pride Association from it’s foundation until about 2006.
